Beauty Skin care concept

Your Skin is the Largest Organ n the Body

Skin Beauty Radiant Energy

By Julia Loggins

Feeling beautiful is as important as feeling good. It takes energy to look good and feel good. We want to look in the mirror and smile. Beauty has everything to do with genuinely liking ourselves, which translates into our creativity, vibrancy, and ability to open our hearts. Beauty is not just skin deep—the skin is the largest organ of the body. What we put on our skin—creams, moisturizers, make-up, and sun tanning or sunblock products affects our overall health. Whatever you smear on your skin, your body consumes as if you had put it in your mouth! Natural hormones are often administered in cream, gel form, or patches to be quickly absorbed through the skin. When I learned of this, I wanted to know the contents of everything I slathered onto my skin.

Organic Skin Care Products

Organic skin care products are available at the health food store, on-line and from spas and boutiques that care about your skin.  Most of us read the labels of what we eat; now, let’s extend that to our make-up, our face creams and even our bubble baths. Heavy perfumey bath products can cause vaginal and yeast infections — not what we are wanting to take with us from a relaxing soak! Remember, you don’t have to spend alot of money to experiment with natural skin care products, straight from the earth. We can use some of our grandmother’s favorite facials, like oatmeal and honey, to tone and moisturize our faces.  Egg whites are fantastic for burns. This summer I burned my hand cooking, and went to the garden to find my old stand-by, aloe vera. I opened up a leaf and put the goopy gel on my hand, but a few hours later, it was still hurting and beginning to blister. A friend told me, “Try egg whites!” I did that, and the next day, the blister was healed. I used to watch my grandmother give herself egg white facials when I was a child, and her skin was lovely for 93 years. What did your mother or grandmother do to beatify her face that you want to share? Would love to hear your ideas and memories of grandma’s tried and true, organic beauty treatments!
