No Time for Chronic Inflammation
Although summer is in bloom, chronic inflammation does not melt away with winter. While less dressed in the summertime, chronic inflammation can keep you from looking and feeling your best. Do you feel bloated, puffy, or swollen? Is fatigue or brain fog ruining your summer fun? Does your belly expand like a balloon no matter what you eat?
5 Habits to Eliminate Chronic Inflammation
I want you to relish the best summer of your life. So, let’s fix your chronic inflammation! Each day that you feel fantastic is a precious gift. However, when in pain, it’s a challenge to smile, be grateful, and get through the day. I know because, at a young age, I learned to fake happiness to cope with my pain.
My Experience with Life-Threatening Inflammation
I spent much of my first 17 years in 37 hospitals. The picture to the right is me at 16 years old, wearing a wig. Due to the side effects of pharmaceutical drug trials, I experienced dramatic hair loss. My doctors predicted I would not live to celebrate my 18th birthday. Once I healed my chronic inflammation and gut issues, my life transformed—and healing your gut will transform your life as well. At 68 years young, I am healthier and happier than ever.
To get started now, implement the techniques below to heal your chronic inflammation.
1. Deep Breathing
Deep breathing is the first step of cleansing. Consider the difference between deep and shallow breathing. Shallow breathing is indicated by rapid breathing through your diaphragm while deep breathing provides healing oxygen to the blood and cells on a powerful continuous basis. Many people often don’t breathe effectively. Whenever you can, take a long, slow breath in; count to four, and exhale slowly as you count to four. Imagine inhaling a powerful life force that energizes your body and calms your mind. As you exhale, release stress, frustration, and whatever you cannot control. When you implement deep breathing while in waiting situations, you will transform your energy levels.
2. Hydration
Without electrolytes, no matter how much water you drink, it cannot be absorbed. To be absorbable, you need to fortify water with electrolytes and trace minerals. Hydration is key for plumping the skin as well as preventing constipation. Many of my clients who experienced frequent headaches and migraine were chronically dehydrated until they added electrolytes and trace minerals to their water.
3. Intentional Fasting
If you intend to lose weight, starving yourself will slow your metabolism to a halt. However, cleansing or fasting with green juices, bone broths, and protein drinks is a potent way to let your digestive system rest. You can learn how to fast and cleanse safely in my Happy Gut Makeover Course.
4. Eat During the Day
Late night meals aggravate acid reflux responses and may cause weight gain. If you are awake late at night, drink a protein shake or bone broth to satiate your hunger. You will sleep better with some digestible liquid protein in your stomach.
5. The 21-Day Cleanse
Commit to your gut health for 21 days by starting the 21-Day Cleanse from my book It Takes Guts to Be Happy! and the Happy Gut Makeover Course. This is the perfect time of year for a cleanse. Interestingly, this cleanse is my year-round eating plan because I feel energized and beautiful. Joy, resilience, and radiance is the gift of gut health. My Happy Gut Makeover Course includes the necessary tools to conduct a 21-day cleanse. The course package includes some of my favorite products such as the Happy Gut Cleanse, Enzyme Energy, Food Combining Chart PDF, and How to Orchestrate a Home Coffee Enema PDF.
Consistent healthy eating habits are not entirely generated by sheer willpower. When you feel good, you easily consume the foods that keep you feeling good. However, when you feel bad, you may say, “Nothing is going to help,” and reach for junk food. The goal of the 21-Day Cleanse is to introduce you to a new and healthier version of yourself. Imagine how you feel when you look at your new body in the mirror.
Seizing the Moment at 68 Years Old
The photo of me to the left was taken after my 68th birthday on a warm and sunny day in Santa Barbara. The beach, bikinis, picnics, and days in the sun—these pleasures are not just for those under 50. These summer beach days are for everyone. Seizing that moment, I suddenly pretended I was 18—not 68, old enough to be the children’s grandmother who were building sandcastles near me. I gathered my courage, tossed my sundress, and dashed to my photo session in my bikini.
If you enjoy my blogs and desire more information, I cordially invite you to join my TikTok Live sessions on Sundays at 5 pm PST. Furthermore, to help you enjoy summer with a healthier and cleaner body, I am offering Flat Belly Pack for only $64 until the end of this month. Knowledge is power—let’s make 2023 a “hot girl” or “hot guy” summer—no matter what your age.
